What is an NGO??
A non-governmental organization (NGO) is an organization that is neither a part of a government nor is formed for-profit business. Usually it is set up by ordinary citizens, NGOs may be funded by governments, foundations, businesses, or private persons.

It could be working for “eradication of poverty” or creating awareness of ” causes of malnutrition”. There are primarily three types of institutions which are called as “NGOs” such as Trust, Society and Non Profitable company. Where as trusts are registered under Indian Trust Act, Societies are registered under Indian Society Registration Act and Non Profitable companies are registered under section 25 of Indian Companies Act, 2013.
Process of registration of Trusts, Societies varies from one state to other whereas procedures of registration of Section 25 or Section 8 companies (Non profitable companies) are almost same in every parts of India.
